Rental homes in Hilversum

Hilversum is the centre of Dutch broadcasting. The Media Park is home to the NPO, the public broadcasters and many production companies, and that shapes who lives here. The town sits in the Gooi region, surrounded by heathland and woods.

Much of the housing is made up of villa neighbourhoods and roomy family homes, especially towards the woods on the edges of town. That draws families, people who work in media, and commuters to Amsterdam or Utrecht who want a quieter place to live. There are fewer student rooms than in a university city, and most listings are apartments and houses.

Besides the main station, Hilversum has two more, Hilversum Sportpark and Hilversum Media Park. Trains make it easy to reach Amsterdam, Utrecht and Amersfoort, and the Media Park is an easy bike ride from most of town. The heath and woods are close to most neighbourhoods. Because supply is limited, it pays to widen your search to other towns in the Gooi such as Bussum.
