Rental homes in Amstelveen

Just south of Amsterdam, Amstelveen offers a quieter, greener alternative to the city. The Amsterdamse Bos, a large forest park, lies right on its edge, and homes are generally more spacious than in central Amsterdam. That combination makes it a common choice for families and for expats working in Amsterdam or at Schiphol.

The international community is well established. The International School of Amsterdam is located in Amstelveen, and KPMG has its Dutch head office here. Many residents work at the Zuidas, which is easy to reach by the express tram to Amsterdam Zuid. Amstelveen has no railway station of its own, but from Amsterdam Zuid you are on the national rail network. Buses run to Schiphol, and cycling into Amsterdam is easy.

Most apartments are around the Stadshart, the town centre and shopping area, while Westwijk and Bovenkerk have more terraced and family houses. A lot of rentals here are furnished and offered to expats on fixed-term contracts. Check the contract length and whether it can be extended before you sign.
